The next svmug meeting is Feb 27, 2012. Our usual date of Feb 20th is a Holiday so our meeting room was not available then. Join us one week later on Feb 27th in our usual room (Bodega Bay Tech Talk Room) at Google. Please help spread the word!

NOTE: The more detailed monthly mailing about the meeting will go out to the svmug yahoo group members a few days prior to our Feb 27th meeting. In the meantime, please check out svmug.org for info.

Feb 27th SPEAKER & TOPIC:
Have you every heard of or seen a Blue Mango? Did you know there is a Learning System for them and for you? Blue Mango Learning Systems will be our speaker on Feb 27th. They have been around for a long time enabling people to create better emails, documents, and presentations.

Clarify is one of their new tools that improves how you communicate with friends, clients, and co-workers. Clarify recently received a 4 out of 5 mice review from MacWorld, was picked as a Mac Gem, and has been featured as an Apple Staff Pick in the Mac App Store.

Clarify is a simple and fast way to create screen recordings. You can think of Clarify as Skitch combined with Keynote. Clarify lets you capture and sequence multiple images, add annotations and text and then share your document via email, PDF or online using Dropbox or Clarify-it.com. What used to require the use of 3 or more applications and hours of work can all be done in minutes with Clarify!

Clarify is ideal for:

• Creating how-to documents
• Preparing screenshots for presentations
• Adding more visuals to the emails you send everyday

For more info about Clarify:
http://www.clarify-it.com/l/clarify-ab

They also make an app called ScreenSteps, and will answer your questions about it too.

SVMUG Meeting on January 16, 2012

Our next meeting is on Monday, January 16, 2012 & guess what? We are back to our usual Google room over by the hair cut van.

SPEAKER & TOPIC:
Philip Goward, co-founder of the company named Smile, will be offering a sneak preview of PDFpen for iPad prior to the product's Macworld release! This great new product brings powerful PDF editing capabilities to the iPad platform. From their site: The current PDFpen for Mac allows you to edit PDFs easily! Add text, images and signatures. Make corrections. Fill out PDF forms. Merge, delete and reorder pages. Come see what the iPad will be able to do too!

But wait…there's more!
In addition to the PDFpen for iPad, we'll see the latest developments in the PDFpen and TextExpander products for the Mac.

A Bit of History: You may recall that long ago before iPhones and iPads were on the scene, the company was solely focussed on Macs and hence the company name was SmileOnMyMac. Well, they are still smiling and making their customers smile while creating additional software that works on iPhones and iPads. Their product list includes: PDFpen, PDFpenPro, DiscLabel, TextExpander, TextExpander touch.
