February meeting moved!

Frontpage News

A note to people:

Due to scheduling issues, the February SVMUG meeting has been moved to February 27 ... one week later.

We should still be in our normal room, the Bodega Bay room at Google (1950 Charleston Ave. Mountain View).

At present we do not have a vendor scheduled for the meeting, so instead we're interested in hearing your thoughts about the Macworld | iWorld expo! Did you see something cool? Did you attend a really informative panel? How were the parties, bands, and other activities? We want to hear from you!

More details will be out closer to the meeting date.

SVMUG Meeting on January 16, 2012

Frontpage News

Our next meeting is on Monday, January 16, 2012 & guess what? We are back to our usual Google room over by the hair cut van.

SPEAKER & TOPIC:
Philip Goward, co-founder of the company named Smile, will be offering a sneak preview of PDFpen for iPad prior to the product's Macworld release! This great new product brings powerful PDF editing capabilities to the iPad platform. From their site: The current PDFpen for Mac allows you to edit PDFs easily! Add text, images and signatures. Make corrections. Fill out PDF forms. Merge, delete and reorder pages. Come see what the iPad will be able to do too!

But wait…there's more!
In addition to the PDFpen for iPad, we'll see the latest developments in the PDFpen and TextExpander products for the Mac.

A Bit of History: You may recall that long ago before iPhones and iPads were on the scene, the company was solely focussed on Macs and hence the company name was SmileOnMyMac. Well, they are still smiling and making their customers smile while creating additional software that works on iPhones and iPads. Their product list includes: PDFpen, PDFpenPro, DiscLabel, TextExpander, TextExpander touch.

And one more thing…
Philip is bringing something for our raffle too!

DIRECTIONS:
-- From Highway 101, take the Amphitheater Parkway exit, which is also Rengstorff Avenue; Head North.
-- Turn right (East) onto Charleston Rd.
-- Turn left (North) onto the Google complex, third driveway entrance.
-- Go to the position A in the map shown.
-- Look for the entrance shown on the map.

NOTE: If you are coming from the other direction on Charleston (coming from the East and driving West), once you cross the creek's bridge, turn RIGHT at the first driveway and go along the right side of the Google building. You'll most likely see the big white hair cut van parked there. You want to park near here. Look at the map to verify the driveway's location since it is hard to see in the dark.

BREAK TIME:
During the Break, we nibble on yummies that attendees bring to the meeting. If you are able to do so, please bring some sort of finger-food. There aren't any beverages available usually so if you would like something to drink, please bring your own in a seal-able container, such as a water bottle.
