posted May 16, 2014, 4:09 AM by Pam Ailes

Hello svmug members & friends!

The next meeting of the Silicon Valley Macintosh User Group (svmug) is on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 7:00PM. As always, meetings are open to the public and free to attend. Bring a friend! We are in our "Normal" room: BODEGA BAY TECH TALK ROOM. See below for details on how to get to the room.

SPEAKER & TOPIC:  Dan Hughes: Photo editing software

Macphun Software is quickly becoming a powerhouse in the photo post-processing realm. They have several of the top 13 photo editing apps in the Mac App Store. This special presentation for svmug will cover Macphun's three professional quality tools: Snapheal Pro, Intensify Pro, and Focus 2 Pro. These work as standalone photo editing applications or as plugins to Photoshop, Lightroom, and Aperture. Join us to learn the benefits of using this powerful yet simple software to get the most out of your photos.

ABOUT Dan:

For the past 5 years, Dan has shared his knowledge of photography and post processing with the public. He's created and given over 2,000 presentations for Macphun Software, Nik Software, Google, and various photographic companies and groups. With a BFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Advertising Photography, Dan lives and breathes all things photography. He actively studies photographic history and aesthetics, while continuously photographing and post-processing his own images. Classically trained, Dan is knowledgeable in both film and digital technologies. He is as much at home with his 4x5 cameras as he is shooting with a cell phone or cutting-edge DSLR cameras. His ability to teach and share his passion for photography has made him highly respected in the photography industry.

OPEN SOURCE TOPIC:  Timesheets - HTML5 slideshows presented by Dan Reed

We will be meeting at Google, in the Bodega Bay Tech Talk Room. If you have not been here before, please allow for some extra time to find the room. Often there is a giant white mobile "Hair cut van" parked in the parking lot near where a cafeteria for Google employees and the Bodega Bay room are located. If you are lost, please call 408-877-6377 and we will try to get you to the right place.

-- From Highway 101, take the Amphitheater Parkway exit, which is also Rengstorff Avenue; Head North.

-- Turn right (East) onto Charleston Rd.

-- Turn left (North) onto the Google complex, at the 3rd driveway entrance. Look at the map to verify the driveway's location since it is hard to see in the dark.

-- Look for the meeting room shown on the map.

NOTE:  If you are coming from the other direction on Charleston (coming from the East and driving West), once you cross the creek's bridge, turn RIGHT at the first driveway and go along the right side of the Google building. You'll most likely see the big white hair cut van parked there. You want to park near here. Look at the map to verify the driveway's location since it is hard to see in the dark.

During the Break, we nibble on yummies that attendees bring to the meeting. If you are able to do so, please bring some sort of finger-food.  There aren't any beverages available unless you bring some, so if you would like something to drink, please bring your own in a seal-able container, such as a water bottle.

SVMUG (Silicon Valley Macintosh User Group)

SVMUG meetings occur on the 3rd Monday of each month (with some holiday exceptions). Meetings are free and open to the public. Audience members may arrive or depart at their convenience, so feel free to arrive late, or leave early if you wish.

SVMUG started as the South Bay branch of the Berkeley Mac User Group (BMUG), and lives on after the dissolution of the main organization. We hold monthly meetings on the Google campus in Mountain View, focusing on user support, vendor demonstrations, and community contacts.
